Dbacks walk off Dodgers, 3rd straight win




With the winner of the game taking sole possession of second place. The dbacks would need to continue with their hot bats, that is just what they did.

A bit of a weird one to start with Joe Jackson and Stu Johnson generously helping out the team fund, at this rate the Dbacks might get free jerseys.

The Dbacks were Down to nine players against a tough Dodgers team. how could they win with only three fielders? maybe if they begged and pleaded with Mr McHendry to stay up passed his bedtime and stay for the second game. YUP HE STAYED!!!

Top of the 1st the dbacks were able to hold the Dodgers to zero runs and put up 3 in their half. Next Inning the dodgers only scored one with The Dbacks scoring 5. 8-1 Diamondbacks going into the third. It seemed as if the Father Dodgers confidence was growing, each inning after that they would score more runs 3 then 6 then 9 eventually taking the lead going into the bottom of the 5th and final inning 19-16.

Don Cole would start it off with a hard hit Double, two quick outs and it looked like the Diamondbacks were going to fall short. But hold on just a second, with McHendry, Boyd and Roder all getting on base the game was tied and momentum had shifted.

Unfortunately speedy pinch runner Jeff Holt was badly injured at second base when he was stepped on. He would shake it off and stay in the game to give the Dbacks a chance to win. Up came Mr consistency George Savaidis, with a rocket to right field the Durham Diamondbacks walked off the father Dodgers in a very close and exciting game.
