The Durham Diamondbacks opened their 12 game 2020 season Wednesday night against an always game Village Inn.

the officials would be sure to keep a close eye on any illegal bats entering the game, as this was a issue in not one but two games that the Dbacks played against the village Inn.

The Dbacks would take the field for the first time of the year at 8pm on the dot. Both teams seemed to have a slow start possibly due to sitting around not playing for half the season thanks to Covid 19. The Diamondbacks would hold a 2-1 lead going into the 2nd inning, unfortunately that would prove to be the last time during the game the Diamondbacks would have a lead.

During the next four innings the Dbacks would score 4 runs and give Village Inn the chance to run away with it, and thats pretty much what they did scoring 13 runs in those same four innings. Hard to win games in the CSP league only scoring 4 runs in 4 innings.

Even with the Dbacks bats ice cold 🥶 they knew that at any time they could string together some hits and get back into the game. In the bottom of the 6th inning with time against them The Diamondbacks would quickly put up the maximum 7 runs in the inning. but in the end it would not be enough The Dbacks would lose their season opener for the first time in four years.

Final score: 16-14 Village Inn
