assignment D-BACKS score early and often
The pressure was on for the Durham Diamondbacks after losing back to back games against The Father Dodgers just a couple weeks ago.
They say that walks hurt you in baseball, and that goes double for a hitter friendly ballpark like Clarington Field. On Monday evening, The Dodger pitchers walked their fair share of hitters, but it was the 26 hits that made the difference. On this night the D-Backs had a ton of fire power that this young and quick Dodgers team could not compete with.
"It's encouraging,"said D-back catcher Graham Crouse. "It's exciting, it's fun. A lot of good baseball, a lot of fun moments. This is the standard that we've wanted to hold ourselves to all year, and it's great to be a part of things clicking and finally just executing the way we know we're capable of." Graham really does love the game of baseball.
As long time D-backs Ace Don Cole sits on the sideline, rookie pitcher Thompson will continue to get the ball in big games. Thompson pitched 5 shutout innings in a 21-9 win.
